چکیده
Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is one of the most common metabolic and endocrine disorders among women, whereas vitamin D a steroid with hormone like activity also considered as missing link between insulin resistance PCOS due to its underlying mechanism action in reducing thereby altering pathogenesis behind symptoms. Methods: A prospective cohort comparative observational study was carried out from July 2019 December 2020 96 deficient females (polycystic ovarian-syndrome). All were randomly recruited under group B equal proportion 1:1, where given metformin (500 mg twice daily) only plus 60000 IU weekly for 24 weeks. Baseline clinical, hormonal, metabolic, sonographic parameters compared before after treatment. Results: Significant improvement seen various both groups, oligomenorrhoea improved 41.67% individuals. FG score mean 10.28±2.02 8.44±2.23 p<0.0001. Acne groups equally 22.92%. ovary pattern 14.58% individuals Serum total testosterone 16.71% 22.92% B. HOMA-IR reduced effectively statistically significant p=0.017 p=0.001 B.Conclusions: Remarkable noteworthy reduction HOMA-IR, BP triglyceride values seen. Hence, supplementation highly effective improving preventing future consequences well.
